Well, well, well.
I'm glad you decided to click this note to read it! The real title of this note is, “Is Chris Brown a bad person for beating Rihanna?”
I just titled it like that to pull you in! ;)
Let me start off by saying I do NOT think Chris Brown is going to hell for beating Rihanna.
I’m listening to “Freeze” as I write this one! (It’s my shit!)
Anyway, I remember the first time I watched the video I was struck with a thought as I saw Chris Brown’s part in the video.
Then I began to think of his side of the story. I don’t think he should have did that to her, but once again we don’t know what she did to provoke him, or whether they were intoxicated.
Personally I think it was just an argument that got out of hand. Since the story came out they have reconciled and are together.
So why write this one?
As evident in my last note about BOMA, I learned what it means when people accuse someone of being judgmental lol. I wonder if that same judgment can be applied to this situation, or is it warranted since you (the people who dislike Chris Brown) don’t agree with what he did.
Let’s be real all it takes is the right circumstance for ANYONE to hit another person REGARDLESS of their sex. The rules are stacked against men though because they get hit on much more than women (excluding domestic violence cases) but if they hit back they get the label of “woman beater” and they get looked down upon.
Really, I think if you are woman enough to hit a man like you’re a man then just be prepared to be hit back. There is a new kind of man who doesn’t respect the woman like the old kind do. Back in the day to hit a woman was REAL foul and you would really get in trouble. Now it’s so commonplace that it has been accepted to an extent.
What I mean is, it’s so common that we’ve been made numb to it. Like if you watch a movie and laugh at people dying in it because it’s a movie. You would be more likely to be less empathetic if it happened in real life because your mind already finds it funny in a movie that is fantasy but portrayed in a real manner.
I don’t think he’s a bad person, I feel like he just made a bad mistake. The other side of that is, if he’s hit before and this is the biggest incident then I think he needs help. Men hitting women also depends on how much the woman is willing to put up with.
Anyway, she forgave him so we should too. If the person who was impacted by it directly forgives him, what problem should you have???
What do you think, is he a bad guy or not?
