What Dragonball Z, Pokemon & Racism Have In Common...

So the other day I was at work, and my boss a co-worker and I got into a discussion of my hatred of Soulja Boy...which led to the note I wrote... Also in that conversation my boss told me when he was in middle school he had a white friend and they were cool since early years...He went to his house to play and he came across a doll...A SAMBO doll... For those of you who don't know what a Sambo doll is, it is a blackface doll with big lips nappy hair, and typically tattered clothing...Some dolls are dressed up... Anyway...My mind got to working since I never have seen a Sambo doll, I googled it & was put off obviously... What bothered me was I had a sense of deja-vu. Then it hit me when I saw an article that let me know why I felt that deja-vu. There was an article that discussed how the creators of Dragonball Z and Pokemon were under fire about characters on their show that were long associated with stereotypes and racism. SAMBO...Dragonball Z's Mr. Popo, and Pokemon's Jynx... These two characters are IDENTICAL to a Sambo doll. There can be absolutely NO coincidence in this matter. Slavery was everywhere, it was an institution, hell, it still is, but that's another topic altogether...

Something else brought to my attention struck me about Dragonball Z...The idea of the show is their was a race of ancient warriors that were the dominant group, they controlled and destroyed people who were weaker than them. They were know as the SAIYANS. One Saiyan by the name of Goku was sent to Earth in a spaceship after the home planet was destroyed by a legendary Saiyan who was the only one to ever become a "Super" Saiyan. The characteristics of a Super Saiyan are gold hair and the Saiyans were white, and their eyes were aqua colored. Seem similar to something in the past???

The Holocaust was geared toward the extermination of all races except the Super race of Aryans who were genetically superior to everyone else and destined to inherit the earth according to Hitler...

The "Super" aspect of Saiyans has levels. Some speculate that the levels go all the way to 7. One level in particular is 4. At this level the hair is black eyes are brown, and the Saiyan has a tail. Also at will the Saiyan can evolve into a giant monkey { brown or gold }...

My opinion is that I was witnessing racism for YEARS and excited to tune in...Crazy how even a strong minded man like myself can be fooled like that, but hey in every mistake their is knowledge to be attained. This is just to let you, the reader know what may have not been detected.

In the end it's up to you to determine what you believe about this...
So what is it you believe???

The Wristband

Sittin in class I look @ my wrist.
What reason do I wear decoration such as this?
If it sits a certain way my arm will itch & I think it’s a bug & it’ll make me pissed.

If it’s popped like many blacks by the police, my pain is abysmal compared to the mother’s grief.
I wear it in the shower & as I sleep on my sheets.

If cut though, $1 replaces the rubber.
This ornament like life in this world is valued very little.
That’s harder to swallow than un-chewed peanut brittle.

Then I look up & see class is about to commence, is it JUST a wristband? Maybe I’m reading too much into it…
